The History Viewer

Use the History Viewer dialog box to display, for example, logged changes to the CmUser Database or failed Logons to the Client. To open the dialog box, select Show History on the File menu:

In the upper part of the dialog box, select which history entries are displayed in the lower part of the dialog box:

Option

Description

User

Select the name of the user you want to view the changes of.

Time

Specify the period of time for which you want to view the history.

 

 

Category

Select the categories of interest:

  • Logon information: Lists all changes related to logons and/or failed logons to the client and to the signature.

  • Modified user: Lists all changes made to the user (in the Edit User dialog box) and password changes made by the user in the client.

  • Modified access groups: Lists the creation and/or deletion of users and their addition to and/or removal from Access Groups.

  • Modified privilege groups: Lists the changes made to Privilege Groups.

  • Modified privileges: Lists all privilege changes in a Privilege Group.

  • Other modifications: Lists all changes that do not belong to one of the above categories; for instance, changes to CmUser database policies.

 

 

View

Click View>> to list all history entries that match the specified settings.

 

 

Close

Click Close to close the History Viewer.

 

 

Delete

Click Delete to open the Delete from History dialog box. Click the arrow next to the box, and then select a date from the calendar. Click Delete to delete all history entries before this date. A history entry will be created for the deletion of the entries. This entry cannot be deleted.

 

 

Report

Click Report to determine how to output the listed history events. In the CmUser History Report dialog box, select the options of interest:

Determines where the history report is output:

Clipboard: Saves the history report to the Clipboard.

File: Saves the history as a file. A Windows dialog box is opened. You can enter the file name, select the file type (text format (*.txt) or PDF format (*.pdf)), and specify the location where the history is saved. Click OK to open the Save as dialog box. Specify the file name and location where the file is saved.

Printer: Prints the history. In a Windows dialog box, you can specify the printer and the number of copies.

Output Format

Determines the output format for the history report:

Table: Saves and/or prints the history in table format. Select this option if you want to use the report in a spreadsheet program, such as Excel.

Plain Text: Saves and/or prints the history as plain text. Select this option if you want to use the report in a word processing program, such as Word.

 

 

Find

Click Find to find one or more terms in the displayed history. The Find dialog box is opened.

 

Tips:

Double-click a history entry to display a short description of the entry.

Press <CTRL> + <C> to select and copy several entries to the Clipboard (to select all entries, press <CTRL> + <A>). You can then use these data in all word processing programs and in Excel, separated by columns.
